It's about the bad boys and the good girls *surprise*.

Yes, it's all black and white here. Was hoping to watch something fun about adventurous women, but this rather makes me ashamed of being female. Why is it that in every movie women have to be plain stupid?

My advice to you is don't waste your time... move on.

PROS: The biggest pro was the action scenes. There was a constant ascension to the tension, but it was very gradual so that you weren't overwhelmed. As the film progressed you, the watcher, were able to understand the who, the where, and the how much better and it wasn't forced on you which I like. Another part that I loved was the ending. I'm including the climax scene as well, but the ending was quite simply masterful. There was just enough grit, gore, and glory to satisfy what you wanted in this movie. Something that is rare to find is an ending that actually resolves the issues at hand. In BLACK ROCK the problem was very clear and so was the resolution, but the ending didn't force the resolution it just happened.

CONS: The most frustrating part of the movie was the marketing. I thought that the trailer didn't deliver the actual intent of the movie which was very disappointing. The final part that was negative was the acting. Although it was very good, there were some small parts where it lacked.

Black Rock started off pretty decent. Three girls reunite years after college to go camping on an island and reminisce about old times. And the star power of Kate Bosworth makes the film seem like it will be quality.

But the movie just drops off from there. The characters camp out with some army guys, one of them tries to rape one of the girls, and then the girls kill him, and his buddies end up chasing them for the rest of the movie. At least I think they do. I hope they find them too.
